RequirementsKorea ProgramFor a Healthy Infant:- Prospective adoptive parents must be at least 25 years old and no older than 42 to be placed on the girl wait list, and and no older than 43 for the boy list.(Korea requires that the parents be less than 45 when the child travels home.)
- Prospective adoptive parents must be married a minimum of three years.
- AAC is authorized to work with families residing in Colorado, Utah and Nevada. AAC must seek special permission from Korea to work with residents from California and Wyoming. We may also be permitted to work with other neighboring states on an individual basis.
- There may be no more than four children living at home.
- There is a weight requirement for parents- please call AAC.
- Parents are not required to travel to Korea. If you choose, baby may be escorted to the United States.
- The adoption is finalized in the United States. A petition for finalization usually takes about six months. AAC will petition the court for Colorado families. Post-placement period is six months.
- Fees are roughly $24,000 for adoptions.
For a waiting or minor special needs child:- AAC is able to place in all states by permission.
- A waiver for parents older than 45 amy be obtained on a permission basis.
- Fees may be reduced.
